If you’re a fan of Flashdance (I mean, who isn’t??) this design might be just what you didn’t know you needed. A fictional, Pittsburghian nightclub, Mawby’s Bar, provided the backdrop for both the fresh-faced, eighteen-year-old ingénues and their washed-up, twenty-five-year-old counter-parts…all who tantalized their audiences with dance routines only the 1980s could have dreamed up. They danced in the streets, they had Halloween parties, they worked out and got super sweaty, they created really curious fashion statements…and they all came together at night at Mawby’s Bar! This place deserves a design! If you’re curious of the location’s actual whereabouts, it was created in 1983 in a vacant warehouse located at 229 Boyd Street in downtown Los Angeles…but, it lives on in our minds as a place we wish really existed.
