The Moondance Diner was a diner in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City, located at 80 Sixth Avenue, between Grand Street and Canal Street (1933-2007). One of us here at Many Moons Merch Company worked at Moondance Diner for a very brief time. Such a cool diner – why only a brief time you may wonder!? Well, cool is only so cool late at night as the only server…with a surprisingly large kitchen staff who watches your every move like an episode of “I Love Lucy”. Yes, kitchen staff, it’s hilarious to watch a young woman try to service six tables and ten counter stools on her own while simultaneously making it more difficult by messing with orders and pretending you have no idea what she’s talking about. A live sitcom, I tell you! Nonetheless, the place is a part of New York’s colorful history, as well as the colorful history of one late-night server. We tried to capture the neon glow at night because, seriously, it’s the stuff romantic memories are made of!
